Provincial branches

Provincial Branches of the Teaching English Language and Literature Society of Iran (TELLSI)

The Provincial Branches of TELLSI were established to extend the society’s academic reach, promote research initiatives, and facilitate easier access to educational services across Iran. Operating in alignment with TELLSI’s official statutes and approved policies, these branches serve as vital hubs for advancing the society’s mission at the regional level. They support educational development by organizing workshops, conferences, and research collaborations, fostering a robust academic network throughout the country.

Core Responsibilities and Objectives:

Provincial Branches are tasked with fulfilling the goals outlined in TELLSI’s official charter, including: • Expanding Educational, Research, and Cultural Activities: Promoting regional scientific engagement through organized events. • Membership Recruitment: Attracting new members to strengthen TELLSI’s academic network. • Hosting Local and Regional Scientific Events: Organizing workshops, conferences, and seminars to share knowledge. • Facilitating Scientific Collaboration: Enhancing communication and information exchange among members

Organizational Structure:

• Initial Management: New Provincial Branches are initially managed by a two-member board appointed by the central board of directors. • Expanded Leadership: If the chapter successfully recruits over 30 active members within two years, a provincial general assembly is formed to elect a new management board, consisting of three main members and one alternate, for a three-year term.

Important Considerations:

• Leadership Oversight: If goals are unmet, the central board can either dissolve the chapter or appoint new leadership. • Optional Legal Registration: Provincial Branches may choose to register officially as independent legal entities.

Financial Management:

• Membership Dues Collection: All membership fees are initially deposited into TELLSI’s central account. • Operational Funding: A percentage of collected dues is allocated to cover the chapter's operational expenses. • Annual Budgeting: The annual budget is proposed by the three-member board and approved by the central board of directors.

Reporting and Evaluation:

• Monthly Meetings and Reporting: Chapters are required to hold regular monthly meetings and submit performance reports to the central board. • Annual Evaluation: The central board reviews each chapter’s performance annually and presents findings at the general assembly. Active and outstanding chapters receive official recognition and awards.

Academic and Media Opportunities:

Provincial Branches of TELLSI are empowered to establish dedicated websites, organize scientific groups, and publish local academic content, ensuring that all such activities operate under the central board’s supervision. These branches play an essential role in extending the society’s academic influence by facilitating regional engagement, fostering research collaboration, and enhancing educational services. With structured administrative management, active membership recruitment, and diverse academic initiatives, TELLSI’s Provincial Branches function as key drivers of the society’s mission. They help advance its scientific, educational, and research goals, creating a dynamic academic network across the country and strengthening TELLSI’s national and international presence.
