TELLSI Workshops announces the sixth event organized by this team and to be conducted by Dr. Parvaneh Tavakoli, Associate Professor in TESOL & Applied Linguistics at the University of Readings in England.
Dr. Tavakoli has published in the most prestigious journals in our field such as TESOL Quarterly and Language Learning and will lead a hands-on workshop on “Oral Fluency in the Foreign Language Classroom”. About Dr. Tavakoli
Dr Parvaneh Tavakoli is an Associate professor in Applied Linguistics at the University of Reading, UK. Following from an MA in TEFL (Iran University of Science and Technology) and a PhD in Applied Linguistics (King’s College London). She joined St. Mary’s University College for a year before becoming a faculty at London Metropolitan University in 2006. She has been teaching at different higher education institutions in the UK since 2002, and has been researching second language acquisition, task-based language teaching and oral fluency since 1998. Dr Tavakoli is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, and was Chair of Language Learning and Teaching SIG for the British Association of Applied Linguists between 2011 and 2014. She has attracted a number of research grants and awards, and has continually published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Her publications in task-based language teaching and second language fluency are widely cited and its outcome broadly welcomed by practitioners and language professionals.
